I havent! But i will check it out now! If you have any pictures or articles or information please submit them and ill upload them!
Ever wonder why there are far less deaths from sharks than there are attacks? Well in a recent study, scientists took a dead seal and shaved off all the fat from the animal and tossed it into the water. When a Great White shark approached, it bit into the seal but let go of it soon after without eating it. Then they took a dead seal just as it was and threw it in the water. When the Great White came by, it bit into the animal again and, soon after, it shredded it and ate it. Now why did this happen?
Great White sharks are huge animals and need a ton of energy to move through the waters. It is essentially one huge muscle with fins and teeth. So when they are hunting, they need to choose animals that will satiate their energy needs. That is why they choose to eat the seal with the most fat and muscle. They need massive amounts of caloric intake to function properly. They eat roughly 600 pounds a day!
Most “attacks” are nothing more than curiosity of the shark. They are like giant cats. The only problem is that they don’t have hands or paws to feel around… only their mouth. So to them, a simple nudge and feeling around with their teeth is just that….a simple “feel around.” To us, it can be misinterpreted as an attack.
So if you need an incentive to lose weight… just remember that a shark will most likely nibble on the person with the most fat and meat!
A pile of carcasses of sharks. A common practice is to cut their fins of and dump them back into the sea. The still alive shark then helplessly sinks to the bottom, becoming a healthy meal to bottom feeders or other sharks. If the shark manages to avoid that fate, then it drowns, unable to keep water and oxygen flowing through their gills because they cannot swim.
This is a picture of hundreds of dead sharks. The reason they are dead? Because the fishermen can fetch quite a payload for the tasty fins used for soups. So hundreds of sharks are dead because of their fins. The bodies are then disposed of, most likely into the ocean again where the fin-less sharks sink to the bottom and become a tasty snack to bottom-dwellers.
